Parking Decals Students must complete a Vehicle Registration Information Form. The Hartford parking decal is valid at any regional campus as well as the Storrs campus provided students park in designated areas as posted. UConn Police Ticketing PARKING POLICIES Over the past five years the Greater Hartford Campus has experienced growth in our academic programs and service units. Although this growth has been very good for the campus, we are being challenged to provide adequate parking for the faculty and staff in the two lots reserved for faculty and staff. We have 150 parking spaces and 250 faculty and staff employed on campus. On several occasions this academic year we have had a larger percentage of our faculty and staff on campus than normal. This situation created parking problems for us. Several of the faculty who were not able to find a parking space parked in the Trout Brook lot. Several others decided to park in restricted areas and were issued parking citations. In the future I would ask that we park only in designated parking spaces. We cannot park in fire lanes, at the loading dock or on the grass. Parking in these areas will result in receiving a parking citation. If there are no parking spaces in the 85 Lawler Road or 1800 Asylum Avenue lots you should park in the Trout Brook lot. The parking enforcers will be patrolling the lots for individuals who are illegally parked and for individuals who are parked in the two lots without appropriate parking permits. Faculty and staff must have a valid parking decal; the ones now in use expire in May of 2007. Should you receive a parking ticket you must follow the town of West Hartford’s appeal process by going to their website and completing the parking appeal form at http://www.west-hartford.com/TownServices/TownDepartments/FinancialServices/OrdinanceViolationObjectionStatement.pdf. Sending your ticket to my office only delays the process. For those faculty and staff who have guest speakers or lecturers visiting the campus you must secure a parking permit for your guest and the permit must be placed on the dashboard of the vehicle. If more than four visitors are expected they should be instructed to park in the visitor’s lot. Faculty and staff visiting from the other UConn campuses can park on campus with a UConn parking permit. Should you have questions feel free to get in touch with me or a member of the Parking Committee.
