Welcome to UConn’s Greater Hartford Campus Virtual Learning Commons. The term Learning Commons refers to a centralized area or space deliberately designed to foster collaborative and interactive learning outside the classroom. The goal of this site is to help our students find and take advantage of the various resources available to them.

Information Technology Center (ITC)

The Greater Hartford Campus Information Technologies Center (GHC-ITC) provides a myriad of computing and telecommunications services to the campus. ITC offers wide range of services, included but not limited to following: Troubleshoot, Support, Maintain, Upgrade or help users with...

  • Software: Novell, Windows Operating Systems, MS Office, SPSS, Minitab.
  • Hardware: Desktop & Laptops running Windows OS or Mac os X
  • Printers: Local, Shared in workgroup environment, Networked Printers
  • PDA's: Setup email, sync calendars
  • Email: MS Outlook, Outlook web-access, Huskymail
  • Audio Video: AV Equipment throughout campus
  • Upgrade and provide tutorials for university supported software.
  • LCD Projectors: Maintain, Repair, Setup projectors throughout campus

Harleigh B. Trecker Library

Experienced professional staff assist with information and research needs, online access to hundreds of databases and thousands of electronic journals, and group and quiet space for studying. 80,000 books housed on-site and millions of books and journal articles available from the global library network.

Quantitative Learning Center (Q Center)

The Quantitative Learning Center is a Tutoring System designed by the University of Connecticut to help the students during their first years at the University. The Q Center at Greater Hartford Campus offers help in Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry and Biology. The Q Center is located in room 309 of the Undergraduate Building.

Writing Center (W Center)

The Writing Center offers peer and professional tutoring in writing. Get help in all aspects of writing from developing ideas to finishing a major project in a peaceful study environment where undergraduate and graduate students can work with tutors who take a collaborative, student-directed approach to learning. The W Center is located in room 303 of the Undergraduate Building.
