| Business and Technology Major |
The Business and Technology major is available to students at the Greater Hartford, Stamford and Waterbury Campuses. The program objective is to provide a broad-based business degree with a special emphasis in the application of information technology. Concentrations in Entrepreneurship, Finance & Risk Management, and Marketing are also available and prepare students for their future career objectives.
The major in Business and Technology contains a solid core of required information technology courses but is not directed at training IT professionals. Rather, the focus is to provide conceptual and core IT knowledge necessary for individuals to be at the cutting edge of their chosen functional areas. In particular, students concentrating in areas such as entrepreneurship, risk management, or interactive marketing are positioned to excel in a competitive market.
Business and Technology graduates pursue careers in the financial services industry as analyst, underwriters, and advisors while some enter positions as website designers, bank managers and IT consultants. In addition, students are prepared to advance their studies and pursue an MBA, Law Degree, MS in Accounting or dual degree program in Law and Business.
